NEW DELHI: The BJP has announced a major organisational reshuffle, with Vadodara MP Hemang Joshi appointed as the new national president of the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), replacing Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya.

Following the change, Surya reflected on his 14-year association with the BJP’s youth wing and thanked the party’s senior leadership for giving him the opportunity to serve in the organisation.

In a post on X, Surya recalled beginning his BJYM journey as a grassroots worker in the city unit. He said he had never imagined that his organisational journey would eventually take him to the national leadership of the youth wing.

Surya expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, BJP president Nitin Nabin, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, former BJP president J P Nadda and national general secretary (organisation) B L Santhosh for their trust and guidance.

He also thanked BJP leaders Tarun Chugh and Sunil Bansal for their organisational guidance and congratulated Hemang Joshi on taking charge of BJYM.

Joshi, a 35-year-old Lok Sabha member from Vadodara, will now lead the party’s youth organisation as part of Nabin’s new national team.

14 years ago, I began my BJYM journey as a karyakarta of the city unit. That it would take me all the way to National President was something I never ever imagined.

“Once BJYM, Always BJYM,” he said, signalling that he would continue his association with the organisation despite the leadership change.
