BRESE 2026: Pralhad Joshi urges investors to boost clean-energy funding
Mumbai: Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi on Thursday urged investors, developers, banks and industry stakeholders to participate in the Bharat Renewable Energy Summit & Expo (BRESE) 2026, highlighting the vast investment potential in India’s green-energy sector.
BRESE 2026 will be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi, from November 2 to 5. The event will bring together the BRE Summit & Expo, the International Solar Alliance’s 9th General Assembly and the 4th International Conference on Green Hydrogen. Representatives from more than 75 countries and over 25,000 participants are expected.
Joshi said India has crossed 300 GW of installed non-fossil-fuel capacity and will need more than ₹30 lakh crore in investment over the next five years to achieve the target of 500 GW by 2030.
He said Mumbai, as a major financial centre, has an important role in mobilising capital for clean-energy projects.
Maharashtra to join summit as partner state
Maharashtra Minister Atul Moreshwar Save said the state will participate as a partner state at BRESE 2026. Maharashtra aims to achieve 65 GW of renewable-energy capacity by 2030.
Save highlighted the state’s rooftop solar network under PM Surya Ghar and its progress in installing solar pumps under PM-KUSUM.
