Price Hikes, Corruption Are Congress Government’s ‘Guarantees’: Dr. C.T. Ravi
Hubballi: Price rises and corruption allegations have become the defining features of the Congress government in Karnataka, Legislative Council member Dr. C.T. Ravi alleged, appealing to graduate voters to re-elect NDA-backed BJP candidate S.V. Sankanur from the West Graduates’ Constituency.
Addressing a press conference, Ravi said Sankanur had served two terms as a Legislative Council member, actively participating in House proceedings and working for public welfare. He also highlighted Sankanur’s efforts to create employment opportunities for unemployed youth through job fairs.
Ravi questioned the implementation of the Congress government’s guarantee schemes, alleging a lack of clarity over pending instalments under the Gruha Lakshmi scheme. He claimed that the Shakti scheme had placed the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) under financial strain.

He also criticised increases in fees for birth and death certificates and land records, along with hikes in electricity tariffs and fuel prices.
Seeks probe into alleged irregularities
Ravi demanded a comprehensive investigation into alleged irregularities involving the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), the Valmiki Development Corporation, the Labour Department and recruitments conducted by the Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC).
He also called for an inquiry into allegations that funds had been misappropriated using fake documents purportedly linked to medical camps organised by the Labour Department.
Raising questions about the alleged sting operation case, Ravi expressed suspicion over the possible involvement of Congress leaders and sought an impartial investigation.
He urged the state government to focus on drought conditions, drinking water shortages, power supply problems and the difficulties faced by farmers.
Appealing to voters to make their voices heard through the ballot, Ravi said re-electing Sankanur would send a message against rising prices and corruption allegations.
MLA Mahesh Tenginkai, Mahantesh Kavatagimath and Thippanna Majjagi were among those present at the press conference.
