Mumbai: The Mumbai Crime Branch formed around 20 special teams to investigate the firing at Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff’s car, leading to the arrest of the accused by Kota Police in Rajasthan, Crime Branch DCP Raj Tilak Roushan said.

Speaking about the investigation, Roushan said the teams used fieldwork, technical analysis and CCTV footage to trace the motorcycle allegedly used in the crime. The investigation led them to Surat, from where the accused boarded the Pune-Jaipur Express.

The teams identified the exact coach in which the accused were travelling and alerted Kota Police, which apprehended them following a tip-off. The process of bringing the accused to Mumbai is underway, the DCP said.

He acknowledged the assistance extended by the police forces of Delhi, Gujarat and Rajasthan, attributing the arrests to coordinated efforts, fieldwork and technical analysis.

The Crime Branch has initially invoked provisions relating to attempt to murder and the Arms Act, Roushan said. Further investigation is underway to establish whether others were involved in the incident. He added that more arrests would follow if further leads identify additional accused.
