8-10 crore devotees expected for 2027 Godavari Pushkaram;
Amaravati: Around 8-10 crore devotees are expected to attend the 2027 Godavari Pushkaram in Andhra Pradesh, officials said. The event will begin on June 26, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu directing officials to speed up preparations.
Works worth ₹4,026 crore are underway across the Godavari region. While 4.86 crore devotees attended the 2015 Maha Pushkaram, officials expect nearly one crore devotees daily in 2027.

A total of 440 ghats will be readied, including 259 existing ghats and 181 new ones. AI-based crowd monitoring, CCTV cameras, drones and QR-based vehicle identification will be used for crowd management. The Finance Department has released ₹899 crore.
Infrastructure works are planned in several districts, including East and West Godavari, Konaseema and Kakinada.
Naidu also proposed a Godavari tourism circuit linking major religious destinations and directed officials to promote homestays, expedite hotel projects and build a convention centre in Rajamahendravaram.
