Asian Games 2026: Sonam, Elavenil and Vidarsa win silver in women’s 10m air rifle
New Delhi: Indian shooters Sonam Uttam Maskar, Elavenil Valarivan and Vidarsa K Vinod clinched the silver medal in the women’s 10m air rifle team event at the Asian Games 2026.
The trio’s performance earned India a podium finish in the shooting competition, adding to the country’s medal tally at the continental sporting event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Sonam, Elavenil and Vidarsa on their silver-medal performance, saying their achievement would inspire athletes in the years ahead.
In a post on X, Modi credited the result to the shooters’ hard work and teamwork.
“Hardwork and teamwork lead to an outstanding result!” Modi said in his message.
He added that he was proud of Sonam Uttam Maskar, Elavenil Valarivan and Vidarsa K Vinod for winning the silver medal in the women’s 10m air rifle event at the Asian Games 2026.
“Their success will inspire several athletes in the coming times,” he said.
The medal adds another achievement to India’s shooting campaign at the Asian Games, with the sport continuing to be an important contributor to the country’s medal tally.
