BJP Has No Concern for Students’ Future, Alleges B.K. Hariprasad at Delhi Protest
New Delhi: KPCC president B.K. Hariprasad has accused the BJP-led Union government of adopting an authoritarian approach and alleged that the Election Commission is functioning in a partisan manner. He was speaking during a protest in Delhi demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Hariprasad said concerns had been raised over the role of constitutional institutions in safeguarding the Constitution and democratic values. He also expressed concern over what he described as a lack of visible intervention by the Supreme Court in protecting these principles.
Congress leaders were marching towards the Supreme Court to submit a representation to the Chief Justice of India, he said, urging the judiciary to take note of the issues raised by the protesters.
“The BJP, not us, has created an atmosphere of chaos. Chaos is rooted in the BJP’s politics. The Constitution and the democratic system face a threat from the BJP and the RSS,” Hariprasad alleged.

He said the Supreme Court should take representations from ordinary citizens and political leaders seriously. Referring to instances in which courts had reportedly taken suo motu cognisance of complaints submitted through postcards, he urged the judiciary to examine the concerns being raised by students participating in large-scale protests.
BJP not concerned about students’ future, says Hariprasad
Hariprasad also accused the BJP government of failing to give adequate attention to students’ futures.
He said all relevant factors should have been considered while preparing examination schedules and stressed that examinations were crucial to students’ academic prospects.
“Decisions must be taken keeping students’ interests in mind,” he said, calling for greater consideration of the difficulties faced by students.
The Congress leader urged the authorities concerned to address the issues raised by students and ensure that decisions affecting their academic future were taken with due consideration of their interests.
