Karnataka MLC Results Send Message to Congress Over ‘Vote Theft’ Allegations, Says Vijayendra
Bengaluru: BJP Karnataka president B Y Vijayendra on Tuesday said the NDA’s victory in all four Karnataka Legislative Council graduates’ and teachers’ constituencies was a response to the Congress’s allegations of “vote theft” and criticism of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process.
Vijayendra described the results as a potential indicator of the political mood ahead of the 2028 Assembly elections, claiming that graduates and teachers had backed the BJP-JD(S) alliance and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership.
He said the outcome also reflected voters’ dissatisfaction with the Congress government in Karnataka. Vijayendra alleged that the results challenged the Congress’s criticism of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and its demand for ballot-paper elections.

The BJP leader urged Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders to respect the country’s electoral system and constitutional institutions. He also said the verdict across the four constituencies sent a message to those questioning the credibility of democratic institutions.
The winning candidates were K M Suresh, S V Sankanur, Shashil G Namoshi and A P Ranganath. Vijayendra congratulated the winners and thanked teachers, graduates, party workers and supporters for their role in the alliance’s victory.
