Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti to Be Celebrated at Ayodhya’s Ram Temple on October 26

Ayodhya: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will celebrate Maharishi Valmiki Jayanti at the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi complex in Ayodhya on October 26, coinciding with Ashvin Purnima, according to an official statement.

The programme will begin at 4 pm and will be attended by revered saints, representatives of the Valmiki community and senior members associated with the Trust. The event’s schedule was finalised at a meeting chaired by Trust trustee Dr Nirmala Yadav.

Mahant Mithilesh Nandini Sharan of Hanumat Niwas will deliver the keynote address, the statement said.

The celebrations will include Shodashopachara Puja, abhishek and aarti of the idol of Maharishi Valmiki. The Valmiki Ramayana will also be recited continuously during the programme, which will conclude with the distribution of prasad.

The Trust said the celebrations would be held at the Ram Janmabhoomi complex to mark the birth anniversary of the revered sage traditionally associated with the composition of the Ramayana.
