Nepal Floods: PM Modi speaks to Balendra Shah, assures all possible assistance

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday spoke to Nepal Prime Minister Balendra Shah and conveyed his condolences over the loss of lives caused by floods in Nepal.

Modi expressed solidarity with the people of Nepal during the difficult situation and assured Shah that India is ready to extend all possible humanitarian assistance.

The Prime Minister said Indian teams are coordinating closely with Nepalese authorities in rescue and relief operations.

In a post on X, Modi said, “Spoke to Prime Minister Balendra Shah and conveyed condolences on the loss of lives due to the floods in Nepal.”

He added that the people of India stand in solidarity with their “sisters and brothers in Nepal” and reiterated India’s commitment to supporting the country during the crisis.

The conversation comes as Nepal continues to deal with the impact of flooding, with rescue and relief operations underway in affected areas. India has also maintained close coordination with Nepalese authorities to assist in the ongoing humanitarian response.
