PM Modi hails India’s 7.8% GDP growth, calls it a ‘herculean feat’
New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed India’s 7.8% GDP growth in the first quarter of FY 2026-27, describing the performance as a “herculean feat” amid global economic uncertainties.
Reacting to the latest growth figures, Modi said the strong economic performance reflected the collective strength and resilience of the people of India, despite several external challenges.
‘India bloomed yet again’
In a post on X, the Prime Minister said India achieved the 7.8% growth despite oil price shocks, supply-chain disruptions and continuing global uncertainties.
He credited the country’s people for ensuring that the economy maintained its growth momentum despite the difficult global environment.
“Doomsayers were doomed and India bloomed… yet again!” Modi said.
The latest GDP figures underline the resilience of the Indian economy at a time when global markets continue to face uncertainty and disruptions in commodity and supply chains.
