Upendra, Prabhudeva to reunite on screen after 24 years in Karthik Subbaraj’s Netflix film
Bengaluru: Kannada star Upendra and popular actor-dancer Prabhudeva are set to reunite on screen after a gap of 24 years. The duo, who last appeared together in the 2002 Kannada hit H2O, will reportedly headline an upcoming multilingual project being made for Netflix.
The yet-to-be-titled film is being directed by acclaimed Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj. The project is said to be a rural action drama inspired by a novel centred on Puliyattam, the traditional folk dance of Tamil Nadu in which performers dress as tigers.
The film is reportedly being planned as a direct-to-OTT release on Netflix, without a theatrical release. Besides Upendra and Prabhudeva, Tamil actor Atharvaa Murali is also expected to play a significant role in the project.

Subbaraj recently revealed during a promotional interaction for his latest film Dorothy that the first schedule of the yet-untitled project had already been completed secretly. The next phase of filming is expected to begin in mid-October.
The film is being made primarily in Tamil and is expected to be dubbed into Kannada and other major South Indian languages for its Netflix release.
The reunion of Upendra and Prabhudeva, who entertained audiences together in H2O, has already generated considerable curiosity among fans, while Subbaraj’s involvement adds further interest to the project.
