Valmiki Corporation row: Govt clarifies delay in PF payment to late employee Chandrashekaran
Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has clarified that ₹3.05 lakh towards provident fund (PF) is the only benefit pending for the family of late Chandrashekaran, who served as a superintendent with the Valmiki Development Corporation. All other benefits due to the family have already been provided, the Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department said.
Chandrashekaran had been transferred from Mysuru Paper Mills to the Valmiki Development Corporation.
Following the alleged illegal money transfer incident involving the corporation, all its bank accounts were frozen on the directions of the finance department. Subsequently, permission was granted to open a separate bank account to deposit statutory deductions made from employees’ salaries.

Accordingly, the bank account was opened on July 22, 2026, the department said.
The Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department said necessary steps would be taken to release the pending PF amount of ₹3.05 lakh at the earliest.
