Nepal floods: 54 stranded Kannadigas safely return home, says DK Shivakumar
Bengaluru: A total of 54 Kannadigas stranded in Nepal amid sudden floods and landslides have safely returned to Karnataka, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar said.
Shivakumar reviewed the progress of the rescue operation and obtained detailed information from the Resident Commissioner at Karnataka Bhavan in New Delhi.
He said the state government was taking all necessary steps to ensure the safe return of Kannadigas still stranded in Nepal.
‘Families need not panic’
Shivakumar urged the families of those stranded in Nepal not to panic, assuring them that the government was closely monitoring the situation and coordinating efforts for their safe return.
“The government stands with the families of those affected and will continue taking all necessary measures to bring the stranded Kannadigas back safely,” he said.
