Three High Court Chief Justices appointed Supreme Court judges
New Delhi: The President of India has appointed three Chief Justices of High Courts as judges of the Supreme Court of India, according to an announcement issued on Monday.
The appointees are Justice Sunita Agarwal, Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court, and Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court.

Justice Agarwal’s parent High Court is Allahabad, while Justice Upadhyaya is also from the Allahabad High Court. Justice Singh’s parent High Court is Jharkhand.
The appointments have been made under the powers conferred by the Constitution of India.
