Caste discrimination not part of Hindu culture, says RSS sarakaryavaha Dattatreya Hosabale
Bhopal: RSS sarakaryavaha (general secretary) Dattatreya Hosabale has said discrimination based on caste or birth is not part of Hindu culture and called for a change in social attitudes and personal conduct to address the practice.
Speaking at an event in Bhopal, Hosabale said, “We are all children of Mother India; we are all children of God. Therefore, there should be no discrimination whatsoever among human beings.”

He said caste-based practices and other social evils weaken society and “hollow it out from within”.
Change must begin with personal conduct
Hosabale said efforts to eliminate caste-based discrimination must begin with individuals and their everyday behaviour.
“We must incorporate the resolve not to discriminate based on caste into our lives, homes, and daily behaviour. Caste-based discrimination is a blemish on Hindu society, and we need to free ourselves from it,” he said.
He added that social change could not be achieved through laws, religious sermons or advice alone, and required individuals to change their own conduct and speech.
“Let us all resolve to bring about this change and move forward,” Hosabale said, urging people to work towards greater social harmony.
